¡Hola! I'm María and I'm from Andalusia, Spain. I adapt my classes to the student's targets and interests and would love to help you reach your goals.
Pérez García María de Gracia
I have a degree in Translation and Interpreting and languages have always been my passion. Once I finished my degree and trying to avoid jumping into any sudden conclusions, I decided to move to London to explore my options. After a lot of thinking, I decided to train myself as a Spanish teacher in the best possible place to do so: the Cervantes Institute. I have completed the three courses that are recommended before teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, which are the following:
- Graduate Certificate in Spanish Language Teaching to Adults (GCSLTA). Module 1: Preparing to Teach Spanish
- Graduate Certificate in Spanish Language Teaching to Adults (GCSLTA). Module 2: for practical Spanish language teaching
- Graduate Certificate in Spanish Language Teaching to Adults (GCSLTA). Module 3: Professional Development as a Spanish Teacher
I'm also accredited as a DELE examiner for all levels. While taking the courses I realize how important it is to approach each class individually, depending on the student and the goals they have. We can't prepare a class for a student that is thinking about taking the DELE exams in the same way that we would prepare a class for a learner who is learning Spanish as a hobby. That's why I think it's extremely important to have a chat with the student at the beginning to see what their goals are and what topics they are interested in, so you can prepare material accordingly.
In terms of communication, I try to use the target language as much as possible. I understand that this may vary depending on the level of the learner, but the language exposition plays a key role in terms of learning pronunciation and having more listening and speaking practice.
