I'm Mafe and I'm from Colombia. I love teaching, languages, traveling, history, cultures and photography. And I am always happy to learn new things from my students as I help them practice conversation about their favourite topics.

I’ve been teaching Spanish since 2012, and I love what I do. It makes me very happy to see students who began with no Spanish now speaking confidently and holding real conversations.

I believe in active learning instead of passive learning. From day one, I help students think and express themselves in Spanish.
If a student can already hold conversations, we focus on speaking practice. I propose topics and ask questions that encourage them to think and express their ideas in Spanish.
For beginners, I explain the basics first, then we practice through exercises and real use of the language. I can also give optional homework for students who want to practice on their own.

Soy Mafe y soy de Colombia. Me encanta enseñar, los idiomas, viajar, la historia, las culturas y la fotografía. Me encanta aprender cosas nuevas de mis alumnos mientras les ayudo a practicar con conversaciones sobre sus temas favoritos.

Enseño español desde 2012 y me encanta mi trabajo. Me alegra mucho ver a alumnos que empezaron sin saber nada de español y ahora hablan con fluidez y mantienen conversaciones reales.

Creo en el aprendizaje activo, no en el pasivo. Desde el primer día, ayudo a mis alumnos a pensar y expresarse en español.

Si un alumno ya puede conversar, nos centramos en la práctica oral. Propongo temas y hago preguntas que les animan a pensar y expresar sus ideas en español.

Para principiantes, primero explico lo básico y luego practicamos con ejercicios y el uso real del idioma. También puedo asignar tareas opcionales para quienes quieran practicar por su cuenta.
